The Season of the Switch

Wendy, Pat, Thelma, and Gus sort of wandered into this picture and then even more strangely wandered out (Names were changed to protect the indecent)

The trailers of the People

panofsybny
A panorama of the campers at one half of the park. Mine is the very last one the right. You can see the FJ Cruiser which stands guard through the long, northern nights.

To my Scyter, may he play in peace.

He so loved to go North, as did Cookie, my other Corgi.

Son of Turning Point Parade

_DSC0090
Along with numerous other curious spectators and chronically addicted parade gapers, four watchers (one is taking  this photo) were curbside sitting and watching the entire procedures and attentively keeping vigil on the candy-throwers. I, the photographer, had to coerce the candy-tossers to throw, or toss, candy to the gentleman located in the lower right of the picture. He is wearing a green SYB shirt and sun glasses.

It’s a Lake by George!

_DSC0005.NEF

Canada Street in Lake George

2013.07.24  --  We traveled into the far northern regions of the empire to take some pictures, get a T shirt, and bring back some taffy for the Culligan man..

The Heck With the Deck, Where are the Sausages!

_DSC0001.NEF

Sometimes in the  middle of a rain shower, a little ray of sun will appear, or visa-versa. In the following case it was visa-versa. I got a deck for the camper (nice, huh?). BUT, some sausages mysteriously disappeared from Phil Dean’s magic freezer. No one knows who got away with the sausages.

Haul The Deck And Hold The Ducks

This is John Robinson, carpenter, assembling the deck on my camper. In the background is Daniel Culligan, a local indigenous native.

Return to the SYB

_DSC0013This, folks, is an after dinner moon-mint! It was in the eastern part of the sky looking over the Hudson River on 2013.07.20._DSC0007I loved the sky on this one. This is Fish Creek. It flows into the Hudson.

How Fast’s The Fish Creek Rising, Papa?

_DSC0046.NEF

This picture was taken a while back. The creek, at present, has gone down quite a bit. I went out with two extraordinary boaters on Sunday afternoon, but, alas, I have no photos of that exciting event.

Barnacle Bob’s Boat

DSCN2534
Bob will not allow me to moor my  boat, the HMS Scyter, next to his boat. He loves to poke fun at me for being a novice boatman. Little does he know that I have improved my nautical abilities a thousand fold. I still have to learn the art of backing the boat into the dock though.

Meet Bob Rossi

This is Bob Rossi, sometimes referred to as “Jersey Bob”:_DSC0009.NEF
This is really a great puppy. He belongs to one of the boat people who arrive and depart randomly at different times and different days during the summer weeks:

Rainy weekend causes delay in boating Time

_DSC0009
Rain played a  prominent role in this weekend’s activities. For fear of downpours, the boat was left wrapped in it’s blanket. Her and I are taking a boat safety course on July 8 and 9. This fact has nothing to do with the weather. We are taking it, weather or not..

The Fish Creek Uprising

Torrential rains have caused a big upsurge in Fish Creek

Saratogaville

This can actually be sung to the tune of “Margaritaville”

Phil's on his tractor, and Dan's benefactor, Gary and Bruce are watching with glee
There's Ray and Connie listenin' to blarney, ain't there anyone listening to me

Headin' up North again to Saratogaville
Looking for my lost presence of mind
Some people swear that I won't find it there
But I think, it's up there some where.

George has my boat done, soon I will be one, one of those crazy fools out on the pond
Bob'll be screamin', shoutin', and meanin'
for me to hear and quickly respond

Headin' up North again to Saratogaville
Looking for my lost presence of mind
Some people swear that I won't find it there
But I'm sure, it's up there some where.

Judy and Sally, back in the alley, plantin' some carrots, roses, and kale
Jen and Joan stepped so lightly,  when something unsightly
made them jump and off they did sail

Headin' up North again to Saratogaville
Looking for my lost presence of mind
some people swear that I won't find it up there
but I know, it's up here somewhere

Probably the first and last photo of me

me2
Here I am, the first day on the river in the HMS Scyter (named after my beautiful Corgi who passed on December 3, 2012). It was a glorious day. we were out for a long time, ‘cause we also rescued a boater:

This is the boater whose life was saved by the quick work of me and her.

Dan Culligan

“How” says Dan Culligan.  We all hope that is a greeting and not a query on how to drive the mower. Yeah, I  know, the picture is washed out. So what? You want perfection or taste?

Fish Creek

DSCN2525-001

This is a shot of Fish Creek. It is low right now,  the water, that is. I do hope it does not get any lower. This causes a rise in the number of buzzing, biting  mosquitos..

The New Spot

It has begun: the new, summer season at the Schuyler Yacht Basin. Here are the first batch of new pix showing what’s happening up in the North Country.
We have a new spot with more room and a better view of the creek. There is now a gazebo here for summer get-togethers. The boat is ready but waiting for the depth finder to be installed.
Only a few more folks are yet to arrive.
IT’S PARTY TIME
