Plop, plop. fuzz, fuzz
Oh! What a relief it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Passing the folk capital of New York State: Woodstock {which is three exits above Newburgh} |
Heading toward Albany and the Northway on the NYS Thruway | |||||||||||
A half an hour on the Northway and.........
Exit 14 brings us to Route 9P, make a right then another right onto Route 29, hit the gas pedal, and away we go. Past the KITCHEN, a left on Ferry Street, past Fort Hardy where the British laid their arms and quite possibly their legs as well. Gentleman Johnny had them marching all over the place. Just ahead on the right is the Schuyler Yacht Basin. Driving in, we see the new Clark's Steak House. The owner of the eatery is, also, the new owner of the Sacred Basin from which emanate the whisperings.
The elder owners still live at the Basin. Their names are Phil and Judy Dean They managed the place for thirty years. The same number of years that I (and wife) taught classes at Newburgh Free Academy.
And finally, there we were. The trailer had just been delivered, and we set to work making it habitable. Our only problem was the water heater would not function and so we had no water for showers.
Mark Wells did a great job making the deck look superb, and AKZ Towing did a good job dewinterizing the Taj Mahal, as Dan Culligan calls it. The stout Highlander is bearing the art work of the Sacred Basinal art.
This was made by a fellow who stayed at the Sacred Basin, and listening to its whisperings, working with men known as dredgers, and creating fishy works of art. |
This is where the boats are moored along side the docks. As you can see from the picture, it is high water time at the Sacred Basin. Very little whispering occurs at this time. |
This is a couple of pictures to fill up some space:
This is the new restaurant. it is very nice outside and inside and gives us campers some where to eat. The food is good. We had lunch there. |
The are still empty sockets to plug trailers in. By the end of June, everyone will be back. |
This is Fish Creek, some of the campers go fishing here. We dwell on a small peninsula with the Hudson and Fish Creek on either side. |
